For this and a number of other traits, both whimsical and serious (eye color, lactose intolerance, body odor, etc.), the Gene Heritage report can tell you if there is a genetic basis and provide a sound layman’s discussion of its importance.

Many of the facts about myself that I learned from Gene Heritage are interesting, or quirky, or simply fun. As for eye color, now I have the evidence about why I have dark eyes and my children have light eyes. As for lactose, it’s fascinating to me to learn that I have alleles for both tolerance and intolerance.
