Carrier Screening
I wish I read these reviews before I went for the test here in Natera. My doctor recommended me and my husband to take Genetic test on late February this year. We both took the test at the same time, my husband received a bill a week after that with an information that if he does not pay the bill, it may delay the result, while I did not receive any bill. I called to the Natera’s billing multiple times to make sure they bill me because I do not want my result to be delayed. They kept saying that my bill was not ready and they will take note for my case.
A month later, I received a bill which $100 different compared to cost that my doctor provided as well as the cost that my husband paid. I called them, the line of the billing did not work. They asked me to call again. We had to fight with them on the call to make sure I will pay the correct amount. The Rep told me that he will send me a link in which it will expire in 30 minutes. Look what, that 30 minutes do not mean that you will have 30 minute to settle the payment but you HAVE TO PAY RIGHT AWAY AND YOU HAVE TO LET THEM KNOW THE TRANSACTION NUMBER WHILE YOU ARE ON PHONE WITH THEM. They do not care of what you are doing at that moment or if we have means to pay (I was driving). If I do not pay, I have to call back. This service is really suck. I would say they even do not deserve a star

Like the other reviews, my wife’s doctor recommended Natera for testing. Said our plan would cover. 9 months after the test we receive a bill for the full amount. Calls to billing were a waste of time. No return calls, poor English speakers, etc. Being threatened with collections now. Congratulations Natera! I paid in full and learned my lesson – not to deal with you and to spread the word.

I received multiple emails regarding non-payment of bills for genetic testing. I have attempted to contact them numerous times and get disconnected when I am transferred and wait in line for billing. I received two bills for over $1000. Before taking the test, I discussed with my doctor if BCBS insurance would cover the cost. The doctor, an OBgyn, told me that the maximum payment would be $250.00.
I called and spoke with the first representative who answered the phone number and told her that I had tried to rectify the situation. I cannot get a response except for emails stating that they are sending me to collections for non-response and non-payment.
This business is not ethical. I want this company to stop the harassment and give me a solution. If this continues, I will take legal action. I have tried multiple times to work with you to no avail.

AT LEAST PEOPLE SHOULD BE WARNED FOR DOING THE TESTING AND SHOULD BE GIVEN THE CHOICE TO SELECY WHICH COMPANY TO GO WITH . THIS COMPANY LOOKS TO BE RUNNING FRAUD AND THEY HAVE A LOT OF CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM FOR OVER CHARGING

Prenatal Screening
My Dr. asked if I wanted this testing during my pregnancy and told me it would be completely covered by insurance since I was over 35. I said yes – getting bad results would not have changed our desire to complete the pregnancy but I figured it would be nice to know if something was wrong. A few months later we got a bill for almost $5,000 DOLLARS. Our insurance company (BCBS) stated they were out of network and refused to cover it. Natera brought our bill down to almost $800 which we are being forced to pay – there is no option to customize payments, only to pay the total in full or to sign up for a forced monthly payment plan. Yes this is also the fault of my doctor who has my insurance information and should have checked before using this lab. The healthcare industry is SO convoluted and depraved. Do NOT use Natera unless you do your own homework and ask a lot of questions first.

My doctor chose this company because I meet the .2% Ashkanazi Jewish threshold to have received this at no cost due to the companies research incentives. 3 years later I received a $500 bill and my only option is to pay or sacrifice my credit score.

Do not leverage if you’re expecting any level of customer service.
Website functionality is broken, when you try and contact over the phone, the automated responses are full of dead ends, and all you can do is raise support tickets on the contact us form and wait (for no response).

DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES!! They will try to give you the run around. I was told my bill would be no more than $249 but they were going to submit it to insurance. If the amount was more than what my insurance covered they would drop what I owe them down to 249. When I received a bill for 554 and that they charged my insurance 14000 I was met with a “ sorry we cant help you”

They are a big scam!!!! I am upset with my doctor who said they wanted to come out and take blood after I had been in the hospital for 20 days and two surgeries. I didn’t know any better, they said it was covered. They came out once and billed my insurance $10,000!!!!!!! My insurance denied it and I wrote a letter telling them how much of a scam they were. They wanted me to sign a form to try and get the money from my insurance company and I told them no I would not, do not bother me again!!!! They just called me again and I hung up on her after telling her no way.

I called 4 different times to verify the amount out of pocket prior to getting the tests done for myself, my husband and our baby and all three times they told me the max out of pocket is $449 for all three tests. They also said that they would get an estimate from insurance BEFORE filing and would call us with the option to pay cash pricing or insurance pricing. Then we get bills in the mail for $3000+. They will not adjust no matter what and expect us to be able to make $500/mo payments. This company is a scam. Do NOT use them.

This company is a SCAM. BEWARE! I would give it zero stars if I could. This company partners with doctors offices and tells them to tell patients that the testing will be covered by insurance. I fell for this scam and received a $1,000 bill. They charged my insurance and then billed me for out of pocket, when I was explicitly told that this test is fully covered by my insurance.
Don’t fall for this SCAM and it’s not worth being stuck with a $1,000 bill. I only said yes to doing this test because the doctor’s office told me it was free for the patient.

Literally the worst

Carrier Screening
My wife took a Natera test after being recommended one by her OB. Like others have mentioned, they tried to charge insurance for $11000. When that didn’t go through, they sent a bill for $350 that went up to $850 soon after. Their pricing is not transparent at all and it’s clear that they’re engaged in predatory billing practices to try to squeeze as much as they can out of whoever they can, whether that be the insurance company or you, the paying customer. I’d recommend staying clear.

I couldn’t give zero stars.
What you should know:
Out of pocket testing from them is cheaper than using insurance.
I fought with them for three days via phone and paid less than the uninsured rate.
I should have fought more and could have paid less
It is the same as everyone else’ review. They try to charge over $10,000 dollars for tests insurance won’t cover. They have probably already sold our DNA without our consent. How would we even know if they had actually performed the tests they purported to? I’m dubious based on my interactions with them.

Prenatal Screening
My fertility doctor said he uses Natera for the genetic testing for pre-conception. We called them and our insurance who both said that they are in-network and then they billed us $13,000 and said it’s out of network. They also are using our dna samples for research and to make products without our consent. We didn’t have an option to opt out of this from the beginning when we signed their forms. I only found out when checking their website when trying to make an appointment for a genetic counselor. When I emailed them to remove our dna and destroy it, that we don’t give consent for it to be used for anything else but our results, they gave us a hard time and kept emailing to make it hard to just opt out. These people are a fraud. If I knew how horrible they were, I would have used a different company that my friends and family used before. Please stay away at all costs. They are deceiving and using peoples dna without their knowledge for other things.

Genetic Predisposition
My test yielded the information that I needed, but their customer service is very unhelpful. They are not billing my insurance company (despite receiving the correct information). There is a long wait to speak to a representative and, despite being on hold for an hour, I never had my call answered. I have sent 4 emails about my issue and no response. If you have an alternative company to administer the test that you need, I suggest you look elsewhere.

I was provided a kit by my OB and told about how fantastic the service was. The idea of having my blood drawn from the privacy of my own home was too good to be true and it certainly was anything but grand. The tech tried to cancel and change my appointment time twice before finally showing up 25 minutes late to our appointment. She seemed preoccupied so after a few questions I found out she was anxious to get the the Eagles Super Bowl Parade. I was fine with that but her attitude was anything but friendly. She informed me before she left that I could track my results online in forty eight hours so I thanked her and played the waiting game. Seventy six hours later and still no online I formation I had to contact Natera myself only to be told my samples had not yet arrived and no tracking info was available for them to follow. After three more calls the area representative for Natera had to get involved because they were having trouble locating the tech that took my sample. He was unable to get any tracking info so we had to talk about a second test. After I refused and asked to with a brick and mortar location for the service my samples were magically located a few hours later. I was told the samples would be taken care of first after the fix up and was asked to call back in a few days. I waited 9 to be sure and was told they were waiting for me estimated due date from my OB. I asked how many times they requested this and no one could tell me that or if a call had ever been placed to begin with. I contacted my OB and had them call right away. After another day of waiting I called again only to be told that they were still waiting on my OB so again I played the go between. My OB not only called the day before but they recorded who they spoke with and when. Armed with that I called back only to get the standard appology and run around. Later that afternoon I got the call from my OB but not all the info was provided so I still have to deal with the company for a little longer. I will never use them again and advise others to ask questions and look into your options before going with Natera
