Good customer service as Company agreed to refund the cost of test as was not appropriate test. Suggest to contact company before ordering test to choose best test for your needs. Also suggest company update the test detail on their website description and provide clearer use and handling instructions accompanying their test.

I am so disappointed with this servicek! I was not expecting a definitive answer but identification of breeds which in some way resemble the dog would be nice! They gave a level 2 match of 37-74% with a toy dog breed when my dog is 70cm high and weighs 35kg! Neither of the other 2 “breeds identified seemed to make sense either. There were questions with the kit about possible parentage which I could not answer and the only detail I gave was his colour which coincidentally was the colour of the toy breed identified.. There was a request after I sent samples for a picture of the dog so that they could kindly add it to the certificate (suspect??)

When I phoned the UK office to complain, I got a very patronising woman who told me that my kit was on offer (not that cheap at £55!) and had the gaul to suggest I buy another better test for £73- outrageous as if I’d use them again.

What is misleading is that there are no precautions listed for the £55 test but in the details for the more expensive test, the following was stated : let the swabs dry for about five minutes before you put it back into the case that they came in. Remember that you should never insert damp swabs as this could promote fungal growth. ensure your dog does not eat or drink anything before the test. We put fresh swabs into envelope and sealed Straight away and had to bribe the dog with treats to get him to let us swab inside his mouth!!

Overall, I feel very conned by this company and their service and would recommend you pick a different provider.

International Sciences don’t actually conduct the “dna my dog” test and so my queries about my son’s dog’s results were just routed to another company. I was not pleased about this lack of accountability and the test is not cheap! My queries WERE eventually addressed but the experience has left a bad taste in my mouth so I’m publishing this feedback to warn others.

I love my lithe dog from an Irish dog shelter. But EVERYBODY is asking why she looks like she does – and now I got an answer – really nice!

Very impressed with efficiency and speed

I had re-homed my dog last year at 7 months and he was believed to be a Maltese cross, possibly with a Shih Tzu. So pleased that his DNA test has confirmed this (level 2) and I can now fully understand the traits, characteristics and needs of both breeds. Thank you!

I think the service they provide is fantastic!! They must have very efficient processes and staff as everything was very prompt. I couldn’t believe how fast the kit arrived! I ordered it one afternoon and it had arrived the following morning!

Interesting results.

We had no clue what Oscar was as he is a rescue dog. So we applied for a Dog DNA pack, which arrived in a couple of days and we swabbed his mouth and sent off the samples. The results came 14 days later and our questions were answered: Setter-Bichon! A very simple process tbh, the information is presented really well and proudly sits on the fridge.

Found a couple of articles online comparing testing services. No problems noted with this one and it was best value.

They delivered the results faster than estimated and in my personal circumstance I am forever grateful for that as I received the results of my dogs DNA literally minutes before he took his last breath. Some of the breed results were surprising but when you read characteristics and health report they got my dog spot on.

My dog was brought over to the UK from Romanian. It is so good to know what breeds are in her genetics. It helps us determine her personality, any health issues and life expectancy. (Also it stops the many arguments as to what she is!!) Would I recommend this service??? Absolutely!!! The cost is nothing for the satisfaction of knowing your pets family history.

Thank you for DNA testing my dog. Your service was superb and I don’t think you could improve on that.

The results of the test seem not to reflect the dogs appearance (you must hear this a lot so sorry). Whilst I understand results are only as good as the swab provided, and I can see hints of the breeds recognised, I was slightly dismayed that other breeds weren’t listed as other breed traits in the puppy are quite distinct. That said, the whole service was impeccable.

Extremely pleased with the ease of using the service provided and the results. The timescale advised was accurate. I would recommend your service to others.

Test kit arrived in 2 days, instructions provided were clear and concise, but needed to contact by phone to clarify application form, response on the phone was excellent. Received contact by phone to confirm receipt of test swabs and to confirm timescale for results, this was also followed up by e-mail. Supplied woofer photo as suggested, and Cert arrived today which was well within the quoted timescale. Very very impressed by their high level of Customer service and responsiveness. All in all these Guys really are top notch. Well done.
