Summary

Overall I think the service Genetrack Biolabs provided was good, but three weeks was a long time to wait for the results. I wouldn’t use Genetrack Biolabs again if I needed test whether I was the biological father of a child.

Full Review

The Genetrack Biolabs website was clear, easy to use and reassuring compared to the others I’d researched. However, there was a strange ‘Warning, beware of brokers’ message on the homepage which was a little off-putting.

The list of paternity testing products I could buy was a bit overwhelming but I was able to find the ‘One father-One child’ test. A ‘One mother-One father-One child’ test was also listed but it wasn’t obvious why I would need to test the mother’s DNA as well.

Ordering Experience

When it came to ordering I had to pay extra for kit delivery - I felt this should have been included in the price. I received the kit five working days later and was surprised to see the envelope had a large ‘Genetrack Biolabs’ stamp on it.

The kit was very professional, easy to use, with instructions that were easy to understand. There was very little paperwork to read and complete, and I was pleasantly surprised by how simple the process was. An addressed envelope was included to return the samples but I had to pay for postage. I didn’t receive confirmation that they'd reached the lab.

The Results

I received my results more than three weeks after I sent back the samples, when the website said it would only take three to five working days! The results were emailed to me as a three-page PDF file, and the 2nd page (shown below) informed me that the probability of my being the biological father of the child tested was 0%.

A table of figures was included that listed ‘DNA Loci’, and after reading the explanation of this table on the last page, I was reassured of the test’s accuracy.
