I am happy with the service from biomesight. My bifidobacteria was picked up as too low so I have followed the recommendation to try 2FL prebiotic. I am using Holigos in particular. My stools have improved. I will retest after 3 months of use. I was already using bimuno (GOS) prior to the original test and that did improve things but not enough to see a noticeable difference. I would recommend biomesight especially to those in the UK as it’s good value compared to other competitors and I have found the recommendations useful.

I am a scientist (microbiologist). I don’t specialise in the microbiome but I take a very active interest in the field and consider myself highly knowledable. Having looked at their web UI using the demo account I ordered kits for myself as well as some of my family members and friends. Highly recommended. I am glad to see a local UK provider now offering services comparable with USA providers.

I haven’t purchased a test kit from biomesight but I have uploaded my results (and those of my family) by using their free FASTQ analysis service. Really grateful for their free uploads that offered extra insights compared to my origina provider (Thryve). I’m in the USA and due to international shipping it works out cheaper to order Thryve kits and upload to biomesight.

There’s nothing like the anticipation of getting your latest gut test results, especially after being very good with my diet. I find the service very useful as I started off with some imbalances and things are improving although struggling a bit to reduce some overgrowths. I will be patient though as these things take time.

I am a practitioner and have been uploading my client’s data to biomesight manually up till now. Am pleased to see they now offer a practitioner account, allowing my clients to directly share their data with me. I like what this company is doing and I am referring them to my clients as it saves me time and a bit of hassle compared to other providers. Highly recommended both to consumers and practitioners.

There was a delay in receiving my order. I sent an email to the courier but heard nothing back. When I reached out to biomesight’s support team they responded within minutes and raised an enquiry with the courier and assured me if I don’t receive the kit by the end of the week that they would send me a new kit using the fastest available courier free of charge. I really appreciate that this company is going above and beyond to ensure a great service to their customers. I have yet get my results back but from what I have seen, I’m sure it will be very insightful. I am working with a practitioner who will advise on appropriate treatment to restore balance.

I ordered this test from the USA. Was surprised and happy to see that their lab is based in the USA as well so I didn’t have to courier back to the UK. Other than that, I would say their service is similar (same technology) but also better than thryve as they detect b.longum and b. wadsworthia. I have bilophila that get out of hand whenever I let my diet slip so I like to test every now and then as I’m a bit obsessed about getting my bifidos in range. They started out low but has been impriving. As a non-secretor it is hard but I believe worthwhile to make the effort as it feels like my health has improved significantly since I started my gut health journey.
I was also told that they are working on local fulfillment in the USA and will also be selling directly on amazon USA and Canada!

Sample collection wasn’t too bad. Results came back quickly. Seems my gut is looking good!

I’m UK based and use to test with ubiome and then switched to Thryve as ubiome is no longer around. Was so happy to find biomesight. Thryve charges extra for what comes for free with biomesight. I also imported all my previous raw test data. Thanks to the team at biomesight for a brilliant offering and making my life so much easier! Also can’t wait for all the new features they are promising. Reminds me so much of ubiome who I loved as well.

Love their UI! recommendations are easy to follow. Will be implementing the changes and hope to see some improvements in my recent diabetes related issues. Their customer service is also exceptional. Very responsive and knowledgeable.

I was very curious about the state of my gut microbiome and found the results very interesting. I don’t have any symptoms but according to the results I have a very slight bacterioides overgrowth at 23% but from a species perspective I can see that none in particular is too dominant and my diversity is good so not overly concerned. Was able to see some lactobacillus kefir related species so looks like my home made kefir is working well. As my results are so good I don’t need to make any changes but if I do experience symptoms I would consider retesting as it’s very easy and convennient.

Ordered a kit as my functional medicine doctor recommended it. Waiting on the results but the process was easy enough.

Kit arrived promptly in the mail (after a couple of days). Sample collection was a bit awkward I will admit as I wanted to take a reasonably sized sample. Results came back with bifidobacteria on the low side so I decided to start having kefir and taking probiotics with b. longum as while I have some of these, they could be higher. Also decided to add L. reteuri probiotic as it’s been correlated with a good defense against covid19. After a few weeks my hayfever seems to have improved significantly. I can see others still struggling with it so don’t think it’s a coincidence.

Unexpectedly after recent antibiotic use, my diversity and probiotics aren’t looking too badly. Useful to know that the interventions I took seemed to have helped thanks. Thanks to the team at biomesight that offers this UK based service at such a reasonable price and results in good time.

One of my friends are into gut health and heard about biomesight on a facebook group. Decided to give it a try as with the promotional price it seemed like a good investment in my health especially nowadays with coronavirus and wanting to ensure my immune system is in a good state. I was not disappointed as while my gut is mostly looking good my lactobacilli and akkermansia is too low. Diversity can also be better (had been on short course of broad spectrum antibiotics a year ago so might be that as my diet is generally quite good.) I will be following the recommendations to slowly add some more diverse foods, fermented foods and focus on getting polyphenols in particular.

Very good customer service from these guys. I had so many questions for them as it was my first gut test and was nervous about not collecting the sample correctly. Kit has now been sent to the lab. Eagerly awaiting my results.

I suffer from debilitating brain fog which appears to be triggered by foods. An organic acid test (urine) picked up high lactate but I am yet to understand the mechanisms behind. It being of bacterial origin is a possibility. One of the reasons I use biomesight is because they have a section focused on metabolites. Currently it only compares your SCFA producers with the biomesight population but they are promising to expand this to cover additonal metabolites, including lactate, histamine and toxins. I have used a number of USA providers but as biomesight is UK based I have now ordered a few kits from them as it’s much more convenient and works out cheaper. I really hope I can get to the bottom of my issues but biomesight looks like it has potential to help me fit the pieces of me health puzzle together.

Very interesting results! I’m keen to see the new sections they are promising, e.g. toxin and vitamin synthesis. I get occassional brain fog and have read that bacteria producing toxins could cause this. Hopefully they’ll be adding it soon. I’m likely to retest as I do have some imbalances to correct.

I ordered from outside the UK, but the kit was delivered promptly. I chose to use a courier to return the sample to the lab in the USA as was keen for the results. Came back in less than 2 weeks from when I posted it. Quite insightful but will need to take the time to understand it all, especially those areas where I need some improvement.

I am a researcher (gut brain axis) and heard about biomesight’s free service to research projects. We had originally planned to collaborate with uBiome but as they are no longer around I am very glad to have found biomesight and to be able to offer this interpretation to our study participants. It’s nice to be able to give them something back for free as we have limited budget and do not have the time and resource to offer an interpretation to the participants ourselves.

I have only used their free upload service up till now but do plan to buy their kits once I use up the Thryve ones I have bought already. Would say their service compares well to Thryve’s and is better than thryve’s base service. Thryve charges a subscription for their premium interpretation while biomesight does everything for free (except for the lab side of course). Appreciate what this company is doing. Highly recommended.

Good UI, useful recommendations but I think they need to make it more personalized as currently it’s generic and based on how to increase/decrease certain bacteria. E.g. I am getting recommendations to avoid animal fats while I’m already a vegetarian.

It’s a good thing I did this test as my probiotics came back quite low and some commensal overgrowth. Will need to take my diet more seriously. Time to cut back the sugar! ( I know it was time for that long ago!)

Results came back quickly. Was great getting an overview of my gut health. Look forward to the new features that they’re planning on adding and on seeing how my gut health will improve with the recommendations.

Biomesight was recommended to me by a friend. I experience bloating from time to time. My results came back looking reasonably good though so it looks like the bloat might be due to food intolerance rather than microbial balance. That being said, my diversity could do with improvment so I’m going to pay attention to my food choices over the next few months. I will also start to track which foods trigger my symptoms and which hard to digest substates it might contain. I probably won’t retest unless I develop symptoms.

I have had some bloat in recent weeks so decided a gut microbiome test would be a good idea. My results look good other then 0 akkermansia and high bilophila. Advise is to cut back on saturated fat to reduce the bilophila which looks to be responsible for the bloating. Will also be fasting and having some high polyphenols foods to try and feed the akkermansia.

Biomesight is a test that everyone should consider to analyse their gut wellness even if they don’t have any obvious issues. It took me minutes to take a sample and post it through a regular postbox. The advanced reports have insights into the bacteria levels and how to increase or reduce them depending on their levels by making basic changes in your eating habits, exercise levels. You can also choose to use probiotics supplements depending on your choice. It certainly encouraged me to start eat cleaner and more diverse food, exercise more.

The kit arrived in the post promptly and instructions provided were easy to follow and registering the kit was very simple. I was able to post it and received my results through the website. Really thorough and detailed breakdown along with the information for each bacterium was also provided. The information is easily digestible via the visualised charts along with a comparison with the average. I am now well-informed regarding my gut health and have begun taking active steps and had a re-think of certain lifestyle choices and accommodate dietary changes to improve it. The collection kit was well-organised and contained simple instructions that will really help if, like me, the thought of providing a stool sample feels a little awkward. The process of posting the sample back was also trouble-free, just seal the box with the tear strip and place it in any postbox – discrete and convenient!

I wanted to get my biome sequenced and I went ubiome just befofe they collapsed. That was disappoint. Biomesight saved the day. The results were available really quickly and I was able to download the raw data, in addition to viewing it on their website. Overall I would highly recommend BiomeSight.

For the last 15 years I’ve suspected some sort of underlying stomach/gut issue as I’ve had various GI symptoms such as bloating, excessive gas and cramping and at one point also what felt like IBS.

I’ve also in the last 5 years developed further issues, e.g. severe fatigue, brain fog, insomnia, dry eyes, and seemed very susceptible to colds and flu, to name a few, and when I decided to start doing some testing to find what could be wrong with me, various problems were picked up, including a diagnosis of primary hyperparathyroidism which I had surgery for. Their advanced section also allows me to compare my results over time and see first-hand how effective the dietary, prebiotic and lifestyle interventions that I’ve chosen to implement has been. I’ve also been able to re-analyse previous results from uBiome and Thryveinside on their platform (for free) which is fantastic especially as uBiome is no longer around.

I strongly recommend this test for anyone interested in optimising their general health, not just gut health as it runs so much deeper. My recommendation is even stronger for those suffering from chronic health conditions. Do a google search for your condition and the gut microbiome and you will very likely see the research that’s been done to investigate the links.
