Ancestry DNA Testing Reviews for Xcode

I was quite disappointed with Xcode. I’m a Londoner (South Indian Tamil) and thought I’d pay $40 for the supposedly in-depth Ancestry test. It was inaccurate in that it was completely different to every other ancestry test I’ve bought. Even their new algorithm was completely conflicting with the old one. Their old one said I’m 74.66% South Asian whilst their new algorithm (Origin 2.0, which is similar to what 23andme uses), says that I’m 100 South Asian!! The sheer difference is not reassuring at all.

I also applied for their South Asian project and it’s been half a month and I still haven’t been contacted back (despite qualifying for it). I’ve also emailed them asking for customer support and again, I still haven’t been contacted back. So I ended up paying $40 for awful results and bad customer service.

I admire the concept and appreciate that they’re still relatively new but they need a far larger reference population (using the SAGE Project).

Xcode Life is a very good DNA test, it is very informative, and I highly recommend it!

Unique and useful way to display your ancestry, really interesting

Xcode gave me results very fast and efficiently. The results were rather surprising, but in a way, they looked much more accurate than other DNA testing companies I’ve experienced. Overall, I really recommend Xcode.

I learned about xcode through an ancestry subreddit. You upload your raw dna data and the reports are generated pretty quickly. Got some closure from the Alzheimers report, as I have family history of the disease. Came out negative for the common markers. Xcode is particularly useful, especially to an AncestryDNA customer, as health reports based on your raw data can be viewed. These reports are thorough and easy to read.

Xcode was really great for correctly identifying my ethnic origins based on my family tree. I really liked that the test gave information on my haplogroups. The process was very fast and, in 24 hours, I already got my results! All I had to do was upload my raw DNA data.

Great service, was easy to upload my data and I received my results very quickly. I received a fairly detailed ancestry report.

Received my report by uploading raw data from FTDNA. The process wad intuitive and fast. Results were done withing an hour. The report was in an interesting format with detailed charts and maps.

Interesting results and highly recommended for Indians for ancestry breakdowns within the Indian subcontinent. The company was very professional and friendly to deal with and also patiently answered my follow up questions on this subject when I contacted them after my results.

Swift turnaround time (got mine in less than 24 hours) and detailed report which helped me fill in the dots around my ancestry. Significantly more detailed report than their US competitors.

If you have non-European ancestry, mainly Asian/Indian, this is the best test you can take. They used to be small, but now their business is rivaling those like AncestryDNA and 23andMe.
The results were a surprise for me as I found out that I am less than 50% European and I found a lot about my non-European ancestry.

DNA tests for South Asians tend to be very rudimentary at this stage in the technology. This Xcode test allows those of SA descent to learn more about their background. Not to mention you can import your raw DNA files from 23andme. Also, the ancestry report was generated very quickly, taking less than 24 hour.

This is by far the most accurate test to date I have ever seen. I definitely recommend this service for those wishing to dig deeper into their genome.

I was searching for a credible and affordable DNA service to supplement the data I received in my 23andme report. In my research, I came across many positive recommendations for Xcode through reading various forums and DNA-related blogs. Very pleased with my ancestry report – I am of South Asian origin and this was very helpful in breaking down my South Asian component. Because all the other elements in my ancestry were less than 25%, I didn’t get the breakdown I would have liked of the European and West Asian components…

I scoured the internet looking for a dna ancestry test that would give me a hard copy of the results and there were not many let me tell you! Read some good reviews of Living DNA and a few others and one review in particular said X code was good because it isn’t just the dna ancestry that they look at (and I think X code’s website filled me with more confidence than Living DNA’s when I looked at it – it was a few months ago now) anyway i obviously bought the X code test and I got the booklet – more of a brochure of me! – I think i will buy another ancestry dna test to be frank as the results were beautifully presented but what i’m seeing doesn’t gel with what i know about my family so maybe i should have gone with a more popular option?

I used Xcode to provide extensive reports for my mother, using her raw code from 23andme. The reports were extensive, containing highly detailed Information and she found them easy to understand. I highly recommend Xcode .

They say if it’s too good to be true it usually is, that isn’t quite the case with Xcode. They have a long long way to go to have comparable reports with 23andMe and Ancestry.com but I did feel I’d bought a valuable add-on when I got this.
