The ‘APOE’ test from Lifecode Gx analyses your DNA to examine the variants in your APOE gene that may impact or protect the brain from the inflammation, toxins and synaptic degeneration associated with different types of Alzheimer’s disease.
You’ll receive a report on the version of the APOE gene you have, as well as other genetic variations. The Epsilon 4 form of the APOE gene has been associated with disorders of lipid metabolism, and increased susceptibility to cardiovascular disease and neurodegenerative conditions such Alzheimer’s disease.
