The ‘Degenerative Myelopathy Test’ from Affinity DNA analyses your dog’s DNA to determine whether they are likely to develop an inherited neurological condition which affects the spinal cord.

• Determines whether your dog is clear, high risk, or a carrier of myelopathy

What you’ll receive

You’ll receive a kit which contains the the oral swabs used to take the DNA samples. Results will indicate your dog’s disease susceptibility in terms of the following:

• Clear – no copy of the disease-causing gene
• Carrier – the dog has inherited one copy of the disease-causing gene
• High risk– the dog has two copies of the disease-causing gene and will be medically affected by it
